Across the Atlantic
Qualifying used personal property can enter Spain free of duty and VAT when a residence is transferred from outside the EU and the move is properly documented. Since 1948, our overseas moving company has coordinated US packing, export clearance, sea or air transport, Spanish customs and final delivery under one plan.
Whether the move starts in a Miami condo or a California family home, our door-to-door international movers handle furniture, appliances, personal effects, antiques and art from pickup to delivery. One coordinator follows the shipment to Valencia, Barcelona or Algeciras and works with Spanish partners on the final leg.
One coordinated move
Packing, freight, Spanish customs and door-to-door delivery.
Everything your move needs
We connect the origin survey, packing, freight, customs file and Spanish delivery in one sequence. Our international movers and packers keep the route organized so you are not managing separate providers at each stage.
A free virtual or in-home survey confirms your volume, timing and route, and the residence documents Spanish customs will look for.
We pad, wrap and box everything for the sea crossing, with custom crates for tiles, ceramics, art and antiques that need fine art shipping services.
We prepare your valued inventory and the transfer-of-residence exemption claim, so eligible goods clear Spanish customs free of duty and VAT.
We book sailings from East Coast and Gulf ports such as New York and New Jersey, Miami or Houston to Valencia, Barcelona or Algeciras, or air cargo to Madrid-Barajas.
Choose cover for the declared value of your shipment, and track it from the US to Valencia, Barcelona or Algeciras.
Storage covers any gap before your Spanish home is ready, and inside delivery places everything in the right rooms. Bringing a car? Our international car shipping services can arrange it.
From home to destination
A Spain move follows six core stages, beginning with route pricing and ending with delivery at your new address.
Share your US origin, Spanish destination and approximate volume so we can price the shipment and compare suitable transport choices.
In person or on video, a pre-move survey confirms what is going and how much space it needs.
We confirm dates, coverage and shipping method and provide the list of residence documents Spanish customs expects.
The origin crew protects, inventories and loads your belongings, building the valued list required for the customs file.
Your goods travel to a Spanish port or airport while the transfer-of-residence exemption documents are readied for customs.
After release, the destination crew completes delivery to the city, inland or coastal address and unpacks if that option was selected.
Plan your budget
Spain moving costs are calculated from the total volume or weight of the belongings together with the shipping option selected.
Groupage / LCL (Less Than Container Load): the shipment shares container space with other household goods travelling to Spain.
FCL (Full Container Load): a dedicated 20-foot, 40-foot or 40-foot High Cube container is reserved solely for your household.
The home-size ranges below separate cartons and personal effects from fully furnished households. The first table shows shipping, while the second lists the full-packing charge and the corresponding combined total.

Spanish customs expects a detailed list of the household goods with estimated values and approximate purchase dates.
You need at least 12 consecutive months living outside the EU, and goods owned for at least six. The Agencia Tributaria sets out the conditions and documents.
Non-EU nationals commonly use a TIE residence card, while Spanish citizens use their DNI and consular deregistration evidence.
Sea costs less and air arrives sooner; our international moving cost calculator approach and a free survey help you balance the two.
Goods should generally be imported within 12 months of establishing residence in Spain, so the shipment date needs to align with the move.
Plan your inventory
Spanish customs relief applies to used personal property from the home you are leaving, including furniture, appliances, kitchenware, clothing, books, decor, antiques and art. As an international shipping company focused on relocations, we keep commercial cargo outside the household consignment so it remains eligible for the residence-transfer process.
Alcohol, tobacco, commercial vehicles and professional equipment, apart from portable tools of a trade, are excluded.
Experienced support matters
A Spain-bound move crosses the Atlantic and passes through several origin, freight, customs and destination handoffs. Experienced international movers keep those stages connected so the shipment and documentation advance together.
Protective wrapping, sturdy cartons and secure container loading help household items withstand the long sea passage.
With international residential movers handling the physical shipment, you can concentrate on visas, NIE/TIE arrangements and housing.
The valued inventory and residence evidence are built into the move file rather than left until arrival.
Our piano moving team crates instruments for the crossing, and crews map out tricky stairs before moving day.
When comparing the best international movers for Spain, check who coordinates the destination side as well as the US packing. Our overseas moving services cover the route from collection through Spanish delivery.
Pricing is calculated from shipment volume or weight and the selected shipping method. Typical home-size ranges appear above, with full packing shown as a separate charge. A survey supports an exact free international moving quote.
Air freight to Madrid or Barcelona is usually faster, while ocean shipping generally requires several weeks door to door after loading, sailing and Spanish customs are included. Your coordinator confirms the route-specific window when you book.
Qualifying used household belongings can generally receive duty and VAT relief when you transfer your habitual residence after at least 12 consecutive months outside the EU and have owned the goods for at least six months. Alcohol, tobacco and commercial items are excluded.
Spanish customs typically needs a detailed valued inventory, proof of residence outside the EU and evidence of your new Spanish residence, such as a TIE card for a non-EU national. We help assemble the move file.
In some cases, yes. Goods may be cleared before you settle if you commit to establishing residence within six months, although customs may require a guarantee. We plan the timing around your circumstances.
